Bonnie Buchholtz, an American woman who lives part-time in Paris, was the first person to successfully complete the Find the Fountains Challenge. While searching for Wallace fountains, Bonnie often
encountered workers applying a fresh coat of protective paint to the fountains and she stopped to chat with them. By finding all 109 fountains in the city, she received a certificate of achievement and became a lifelong member of the Friends of the Wallace Fountains. For being the first to complete the challenge, she also received a Fontaines Wallace linen tea towel produced in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Lisburn is the location where Sir Richard Wallace inherited a vast
estate and personally financed many major community improvements, including gifting to the town five Wallace Fountains.
