Poppy Filed, a renowned British sculptor, has been commissioned by the Mansart Foundation to create a two-meter, bronze statue of Sir Richard Wallace. The statue will be on permanent display outdoors at Château de Bagatelle. The accomplished artist created the bronze monuments of Her Majesty The Queen and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh for the south porch façade of the Royal Albert Hall in London. The Richard Wallace statue will pay tribute to his extraordinary cultural and humanitarian philanthropy, both in France and the UK. Many feel that official recognition of Richard Wallace's generosity, kindness and legacy with a fitting memorial is long overdue.
The statue will be funded by donations from people who admire the philanthropist and from organizations with links to Richard Wallace. Donations of any size are welcome and appreciated.

Poppy Field, sculpteur britannique de renom, a été chargée par la Fondation Mansart de créer une statue en bronze de deux mètres
représentant Sir Richard Wallace. La statue sera exposée en permanence en plein air au Château de Bagatelle. L'artiste accompli a créé les monuments en bronze de Sa Majesté la Reine et du Prince Philip, Duc d'Edimbourg pour la façade du porche sud du Royal Albert Hall à Londres. La statue de Richard Wallace rendra hommage à son extraordinaire philanthropie culturelle et humanitaire, tant en France qu'au Royaume-Uni. Nombreux sont ceux qui pensent que la reconnaissance officielle de la générosité, de la gentillesse et de l'héritage de Richard Wallace par un mémorial digne de ce nom se fait attendre depuis longtemps.
La statue sera financée par les dons de personnes qui admirent le philanthrope et d'organisations ayant des liens avec Richard Wallace. Les dons, quelle que soit leur taille, sont les bienvenus et appréciés.

A major project in Nantes was initiated in 2022 and designed to highlight the city's policy favoring equal access to
drinking water in public spaces. The project is making it possible to renovate the five existing Wallace fountains and create four new ones imagined by the artist, author and illustrator, Cyril Pedrosa. Andrew Simpkin, Anna Macleod, Valérie Queruau Lamerie, Aurélie Salvaing, Perrine Angly and Janis Commentz are among the many artists from the
USA, United Kingdom, Ireland and France whose works will be on display and available through a silent auction at the festive event on 13 June at Chateau Bagatelle to honor Sir Richard Wallace and celebrate the restoration of the chateau. Proceeds from the sale of the artwork will be used to fund a statue of Richard Wallace to be installed at the chateau.

| During the siege of Paris, hot air balloons and pigeons were the only methods to get information out of the city. A balloon named Le Richard Wallace was intended to honor him and be the last balloon to leave
Paris before surrender. It was launched on 27 January 1871 carrying messages to Bordeaux and a letter from Jules Favre to Gambetta describing the terms of the armistice.
Unfortunately, the balloon and its pilot were lost at sea. A plaque in Gard Nord commemorates the balloonist. A medallion honoring the balloon flight can be found at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC, USA.

dernier ballon à quitter Paris avant la capitulation. Il fut lancé le 27 janvier 1871, transportant des messages à Bordeaux et une lettre de Jules Favre à Gambetta décrivant les termes de l'armistice.

| This spring, Hôtel Barrière Fouquet's Paris celebrated Easter with a unique creation. Anthony Coquereau, head pastry chef, designed a chocolate replica of the famous Wallace fountains. Made entirely from dark chocolate, this fountain featured an ingenious opening mechanism.
When a tab is pulled, the dome of the fountains releases delicious chocolate pearls of milk chocolate with fleur de sel and dark chocolate with spirulina. This creation is an edible work of art that faithfully recreated all the details of a Wallace fountain, including the four caryatids.

Ce printemps, l'Hôtel Barrière Fouquet's Paris a célébré Pâques avec une création unique. Anthony Coquereau, chef pâtissier, a conçu une réplique en chocolat des célèbres fontaines Wallace. Entièrement réalisée en chocolat noir, cette fontaine est dotée d'un ingénieux mécanisme d'ouverture. En tirant sur une languette, le dôme des fontaines libère de délicieuses perles de chocolat au lait à la fleur de sel et au chocolat noir à la spiruline. Cette création est une œuvre d'art comestible qui recrée fidèlement tous les détails d'une fontaine Wallace, y compris les quatre cariatides.
